Serpent and Dove Complete! + Review
This book is about a witch and witch hunter who fall in love against all odds. In a French inspired world where the male dominated church rules and witches are burned at the stake, one of our main characters, Lou is going to steal and con her way through life to survive. On the other hand Reid, our fearless, follow the rules, witch hunter just wants to do what he is told to protect the King.
2/5 stars ⭐️. I’M OVER LEADING LADIES FALLING IN LOVE WITH THEIR OPPRESSORS. It’s not cute. Not watching the man you were forced to marry, kill your people and then you fall in love with him even more because he cares about YOU, when he doesn’t even really know you, girl stop. But I can relate because I am drawn to bad books and I give them a lot of energy. The dialogue in this book I thought was cute and corny, they all sounded like teenagers rebelling and telling bad jokes, so that is what one star goes towards and then the other star in the 2 star rating is given for the magic. If you want spoilers or if you know you’re not going to read this book but want to here how ridiculous it got then you have to stayed tuned for my podcast.

The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires - Review
3/5 stars ⭐️. I did not know what this book was about before I started reading. This book is problematic, the black characters in this book where the only ones whose lives were truly effected by the threat and their characters were the least developed and the most stereotyped. I would have preferred if there were no black characters in the book because I really enjoyed all of the women involved in the book club I found them extremely entertaining and funny. But Hendrix knows how to write some messed up weird stuff. Reading some of the horror and gore in this book my mouth was on the floor. I am new to this genre and this book does make me want to read more. I don’t recommend this book if you are triggered by gaslighting because that is like the main tool used in this book to keep the thrill going.
